A fast-paced strategy card game for everyone

Runewards

A turn-based card game where you don't win by playing the strongest card. You win by choosing where the battle happens.

Deceptively simple — insanely fun

Windows PC  ·  not downloadable yet  ·  Android planned, no build

242playable cards
3battlefield sections
7heroes
5campaign stages

The mechanic

Three sections.
Six rows. One choice.

The battlefield is divided into Strength, Agility and Intelligence — six rows in all, because each section has one row per player. Every unit belongs to exactly one section, and that affiliation decides where it can be placed. Nowhere else.

So the question is never "what is my strongest card". It is "which section am I actually trying to win, and which one am I letting go".

"Runewards use an interactive board where position matters. Be careful where you place your cards, one man's mistep is another man's victory."

Download — pre-release

Not downloadable yet.

The build runs, but it is not public. Create your account now and it will be waiting when the Windows download opens. No date is being promised.

Android is planned. There is no build yet, so there is nothing to link to.

One account for the game and the site. One email at release, nothing else, and no sharing. See the privacy policy.

The restoration

Switched off once. Running again now.

Runewards launched in 2018 and stopped working a while later. Nobody decided to close it. The service it depended on was switched off, and the game had nothing left to connect to.

It has since been rebuilt, and it is running again. It is looked after by one person, which is the reason the download opens when the build is ready for other people to play, and not before.
